My connection to Quandamooka comes from my Great Great Grandmother Tilly, of the Ngugi Peoples on Mulgumpin (Moreton Island, Quandamooka).

These artworks represent the deep pride I have for my Aboriginal culture, exploring spiritual connection, and reflecting the balance between people, animals, and the land
Tilly gave birth to my Great Grandfather Thomas Dalton. The Government of the time relocated the Aboriginal people to the nearest Mission, which was located on Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island, Quandamooka).Â

My Grandfather, Horace Thomas Dalton, was born at Goompi (Dunwich on Stradbroke Island) in 1899. Grandfather was an oyster shucker and fisherman in his younger years, before moving off the Island. He was working in the farming industry when he decided to join the Australian Army and become part of the 11th Light Horse Regiment.Â
