My Story

I am a self-taught contemporary Aboriginal Artist and a descendant of the Ugarapul Peoples of Ipswich, Queensland and the Ngugi Peoples of Morton Island within Quandamooka on Stradbroke Island.

For fifty years I have created under the name Yuluwirree (Yoo-loo-weary) which is Aboriginal for Rainbow. My inspiration for my art comes from having pride in my culture and how it explains the mysteries of God. We believe that our way of life is to be one with people, animals and nature, and to be absolute one with the land. I have enjoyed sharing stories though my art since 1986.

Respectful storytelling and cultural pride
